A Flagrant and Continuing Injustice

April 3rd, we attended an evening meeting of over 30 rural landowners.

A couple of auditors of a land use department in a Western State (King County, WA) attended to collect stories of government abuse, to include in their audit.

They got an un-expected ear full. As the two auditors were leaving the meeting, one of them was overheard to say, "I had no idea it was this bad." One might ask how they could be so blind when the rural landowners of this county have been yelling from the roof tops for years, about the egregious injustices foisted on them by an over-bloated, city-run, county council.
In the spirit of surprising civilized behavior, one by one the landowner's stories came pouring out. Some punctuated their story with a few expletives that weren't deleted, some spoke with passion bordering on wanting to do physical harm to the perpetrators of their extended grief. Words like Gestapo, brown shirts, Nazism, strong arm, communism and socialism frequented the lips of the landowners, as they related their individual experiences with land use code enforcement officers.
But what was entirely overlooked by those attending the meeting and the auditors, was that this was just a symptom of a much greater evil:

Evil perpetrated on an American minority, with little or no representation from the government process.

Evil that is foisted on a minority through tyranny of a majority (city folk) who bought into the "green" lie (Environment must be protected, no matter how much it costs, or how many individual and property rights the minority has to give up.), translated; "a draconian government policy."

Evil that ignores rights protected by the 5th Amendment to our cherished Constitution; the absolute requirement by government to provide "due process; "just compensation" when "TAKING" private property.
Evil that violates another section of our constitution, the "equal protection clause". It's demanded of our rural landowers to bear most financial, physical and mental burdens of environmental protection.

These unfair demands on rural landowners come from the top down. They come daily, out of a spineless U. S. Congress that violates its oath of office to preserve, protect and defend us equally , and...the Constitution of the United States.
It comes from Europe and the United Nations with their fully expressed goal to take the land away from private citizens in America. It is written in UN documents that: "Private land ownership is a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth and therefore contributes to social injustice.... Public control of land use is therefore indispensable...."
America is a member of the United Nations and has ratified many of their social and environmental goals by executive order and Congressional legislation.

Even one of the U. S. Supreme Court justices (Ginsberg) believes that we must look at European principles when adjudicating American law or legislation.

These injustices - the evil cause of our local symptoms - are further extended into state and then local governments, as it flows down from the President (Executive Orders).

Then Congress passes "green" legislation that fully violates our constitution. Does this not risk our very sovereignty?

Let's be frank here. Let's say what many think, but don't have the courage to say. Had federal, state or local governments done what they are now doing to our rural neighbors 100 years ago, the guns would have come out and tragically, some government officials would be either shot, hung, or tarred and feathered or lost in the woods somewhere.

As a matter of fact, such things did happen 100 years ago, when rural landowners wouldn't bow down to anyone, but especially they wouldn't bow down to government officials, politicians and bureaucrats alike, who would trespass on their rights, or their land.

In spite of these knowns, we abhor violence and do not condone it! We know full well that it just leads to more violence, and we must win peacefully.

But, we will only win when enough people decide that freedom is more important than their creature comforts.
Government holds the political power, money (our money that they use against us), and an enforcement arm (police) that will takes us on.

Because politicians and bureaucrats are shielded from you and I, our task is formidable.
Ask why armed and uniformed police officers at almost every public meeting these days? To protect politicians from the anger of the people?

If politicians fear us, why don't that shed that fear by simply visiting with us and listening to us?

Unfortunately, the fight is slowly fading out of some of us. We want to be civilized. We want to be nice and avoid a fight. So we hide. After all, if we fought that might jeopardize our assets.

So the job is left to the few of us who have the courage to stick our heads up above the noise level and call an injustice... an injustice.

If the mire handful of us who continue the march are left to our own resources, we will eventually be crushed.

There is hope though, through the right of free speech. We can keep educating you with truth and facts, until you too stand strong with us and educate others.

If government can take away the rights we already have, doesn't that empower them to take more? Please think on that.
When we do not hold government to its constitutional limits, the rest of our constitutional rights head straight to the garbage dump.

Remember, it's your freedom to preserve, protect and defend, or not. What you do, or don't do, will have lasting affect on your children and grandchildren.

We can understand why one would want to advert their eyes and ears. For so long as a person has a car, boat, home. food and job, don't make waves? Let the other guy take the heat? Why should you? Why indeed!

Your government took away our sling shots and rocks, and left us to fight with pennies.

Hardly a recipe for winning a war. An unnecessary war that's right here in front of all of us.

We need your help. Please don't leave the handful of us who are passionate about saving America, to fight Goliath on our own.

Get educated. Get the truth and facts. Help us...help you!

Good Morning Ron,

Couple little tips I've had to learn...the HARD way.

As you will see by my editing - I left your hard hitting punches in - but changed them to "include" folks, as opposed to going after them. This makes people feel like they can be a part of the solution.

My mom first cautioned me on lecturing. And every time I slid backwards and attack folks, I got bloodied until I finally got it through my head that I was making my pursuit more difficult. I still have to exercise much restraint from wanting to simply punch the living daylights out of stupid people, and oft times still slip. But - we learn.
You're terrific! It's tough haul, but I do believe the concerted efforts are GROWING!!

Thanks for all you do.

Roni

Roni:

I have tried cajoling people. I have tried being nice to people. I have tried humor. I have tried including them in the process, but all I hear is a dead silence. My messages reach thousands, but there is little to no return discourse. If the folks don't wake up soon, it won't matter what you, Chuck, or I do.

Although I understand your reasons to soften my message, I wonder if being soft is the way to reach them? Sometimes you have to hit people over the head to get their attention, almost like children. Nevertheless, I know you are trying to do what is right from your perspective.

Thanks for engaging me in the discussion and thanks for taking the time to re-word the article.

Take care,

Ron

Hello Ron,

That's why we have each other. That's our fuel to keep our little engines going.

I hit a low point last week...no responses...whistl'n in the wind... brain kill from trying to think creatively - - work until you're dead tired and not one clue someone's "getting it."

But then - one guy (Former Pro-football player Jim Jensen) takes the time to write a well thought out piece - - and I get re-charged.

Like you, I've tried all of the below mentioned. Thumping, hammering, screaming, soft, light, gentle...

But I'll never erase the pictures: of people whose water had been shut off, - shouting at the thieves, and the thieves Atty had the audacity to jump up and "scold" the water users, saying "now you people need to be nice." Yee gads!

Or the 4th generation elderly man who cried - when giving his talk on Pinon Canyon. Or you - who keeps the good fight.

Or Jack - who keeps the good fight.

So - - I keep moving forward. No one - except God - will stop me.

Thank YOU for having the courage to march on.

Roni

4) Roni:

Need I ask what being nice has gotten us? Will it stop Pinon Canyon? Will it get those water rights back? Will it stop the TAKING of our property rights? Will it close the borders? I don't think so. A right not vigorously defended, is a right no more. Most of the people have lost their will to take risks. Thank God there are a few of us that still have the courage to take on those risks.

I can't tell you how comforting it is to know that deep in the heart of America are some landowners like you and Chuck with courage, who know what is going on and who are willing to take on the government, that so many others refuse to do.

I know there are many others, but somehow we need to coalesce them on a national scale. We are all so fragmented and blowing into the wind. If I can hold on long enough and don't die prematurely, or get run over by government, I intend to use NARLO to accomplish that coalescing. Although we have helped a few landowners with their government trouble, my sole weapon right now is words.

Take care,

Ron
