Accepted Definition: A snake-oil salesman (American, informal) "someone who tries to sell you something of no value". As in "The American people are too easily deceived - the perfect target for any passing snake-oil salesman. "

Accepted Definition: A Confidence Man "A confidence man, also known as a "con man" or a "con artist," is someone who takes advantage of someone else, usually for financial gain, using what is known as a confidence trick."

Our Definition: Snake-oil salesman or Confidence Man "A snake-oil salesman, or confidence man, is someone who exploits the ignorance of a large group of people, for the sole purpose of gaining political power over that group and perhaps a much larger group, to promote a specific radical agenda, i.e. socialism, communism and/or radical environmentalism, and/or the one-world-order, or a combination thereof." Synonym: Obama

One might ask, why are the people of America, land of the free and the supposedly educated, "too easily deceived and are the perfect target for any passing snake-oil salesman, or confidence man?" The answers are not all that complicated. First, comes apathy and disinterest in the political process by the lions share of the American people, as they pursue their version of happiness, while paying little or no attention to the corresponding responsibility of protecting and defending freedom and liberty. Thus, politicians are free to do whatever they wish, including vastly increasing their power over the people.

However, the second answer is a little more complicated and it has to do with the shift from an agrarian culture to an urban culture. An agrarian culture is one of significant independence and responsibility. An agrarian owns a piece of land upon which he or she attempts to extract the agriculture resource of that land by growing crops or raising livestock. The agrarian is subject to a whole host of obstacles that work against him or her, to prevent what they are doing. From adverse weather, to insects and birds that eat their crops, or diseases that infect their crops or livestock, not to mention the rise and fall of the markets that are buying what the agrarian has to sell. If the agrarian fails to recognize the obstacles in his path or acts irresponsible, he suffers significant consequences, including the possibility of going hungry. It takes real mettle to be a farmer or a rancher. Unfortunately, even the agrarians have become wards of government through farm subsidies, where they are paid for not growing or raising something.

However, with the advent of industrialization, many agrarians migrated to the big cities for the jobs and the money that were offered in manufacturing, along with the jobs in those services that supported manufacturing. The manufacturing plants were located in the big cities for availability of credit, cheap labor, materials and concentrated transportation services; i.e. ships, trains, planes and trucks.

Unfortunately, the shifting winds of national and international commerce force businesses to go out of business, leaving significant percentages of the work force out of big-city jobs. A man in a city, out of a job, has few choices if he wishes to survive, since he can't live off the lnad. It is highly unlikely that he will move back to an agrarian life style. The first choice of course is to get another job in that city, or move to another city and find a job. The second choice is to accept starvation and deprivation, which many are unwilling to do. The final choice, if he doesn't wish to starve, is to ask government for help and government is all-too-willing to provide that help, in return for a price.

That leaves the now ward-of-the-government beholden to that government and the payback, or price if you will, comes by voting for the politician or politicians in government, that provided the help. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy and grows as the need for help grows and the concept that infects the entire urban culture, that help is always there at the government's "pig trough".

Big cities are intensive breeding grounds for socialism, racism, cultural and political divisiveness, dependency, public-education manipulation, government control, welfare, crime, riots, strikes and homelessness. Cities are also highly vulnerable to the potential of a huge loss of life and property damage, resulting from natural catastrophes and fast-spreading diseases, as well as man-made events, such as war. The cost to respond to, repair and re-build cities from these events, strain local, state and federal budgets well beyond revenues. Big cities are in fact, the elephant in the room and tend to influence and control every other aspect of American life. Even the electoral college, ingeniously inserted in our constitution, does not protect the red-state minority from the tyranny of the city majority.

Now that most of our people live in big cities, where this culture of government assistance is firmly ingrained in the psyche of those that live there, the self-fulfilling prophecy is that they will continue to elect politicians who will keep the government "pig trough" full.

This is why Americans are too easily deceived and are the perfect targets for any passing snake-oil salesman, or confidence man?" Which brings us to Obama, "who exploits the ignorance and cultural mindset of a large group of people who live in big cities, for the sole purpose of gaining political power over that group and perhaps a much larger group, to promote a specific radical agenda, i.e. socialism, communism and/or radical environmentalism, and/or the one-world-order, or a combination thereof."

The population distribution of America is heaviest on the East and West Coasts and around the Great Lakes region that include the people that live in America's largest cities. Thus, comes the infamous "blue" and "red" states. Give-away candidates and incumbents of political office (Obama-Pelosi-Reid-Frank-Dodd-Kennedy, etc. the liberal-left) exploit the ignorance and dependent cultural mindset of those Americans who live in big cities and the politician's policies, designed with malice aforethought, have been tremendously successful for the last 80 to 100 years. Way too many Americans have been bought and paid for with our money, as a promise from a politician who does not own that money.

Obama, the snake-oil salesman extraordinaire, is just playing the political and cultural card that was handed to him on a silver platter, by generations of Americans living in big cities since the turn of the century, that have become hopelessly dependent on big government and that government has gotten bigger and more powerful as a result. What has happened to America was totally predictable by anyone who had the slightest vision of political, economic, cultural and migration trends. These trends played directly into the hands of politicians and bureaucrats who were seeking greater power and influence over the same people that handed them that power without so much as a whimper. Yes indeed! We have met the enemy and it is us.

Our organization (NARLO), focuses on the rights and interests of the American rural landowner. Under an Obama presidency, these rights and interests are in grave peril, as the snake-oil salesman extraordinaire sets about to dismantle everything American, including our constitution, which is already teetering on the brink of extinction.

To give you an idea of Obama's political philosophy, we created a satirical YouTube video entitled "Obama, The Omnipotent, The Enlightened One" that some might enjoy. It is located at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4liDThM8To.
